Missing dll files

Thu Nov 22, 2018 5:38 pm

Hey bois and not bois,

I have installed the mod into the AoE III steam directory. I don't know if that could have contributed to this issue. I am missing a couple dll files, I managed to get "granny2.dll" and "rockalldll.dll" by browsing the forum, the only two I am missing now are "binkw32.dll" and "deformerdlly.dll". It would be cool if somebody could upload the two I need. Thanks a lot!

Alright thanks! Problem now is that when I start the game it gives me an error saying "initialization failed could not load datapy.bar" I have age of empire complete collection on steam. I am pretty sure I installed it in the correct path. Should I consider reinstalling the game on steam then reinstall the mod?

That's a common error caused by wrong directory normally, so you should check first if you already installed WoL in the correct place although i recommend install WoL in a copy of original folder like this:

Copy bin in ''Wars of Liberty'' folder and install WoL there, works perfectly if you want conserve a clean copy of original game and to avoid certain problems.

I tried installing it into a copied folder with the bin inside in the steam directory but an error came up and read that the installation folder does not contain a valid copy of asian dynasties and the installer did not detect a valid installation of AoE3 automatically. The mod only wants to install in the main directory, not a copied folder.

I never had that problem. My main game is on " D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Age Of Empires 3\bin "
But the WOL copy is  " C:\Age Of Empires 3\bin "
Have you tried to run the copy first before you install WOL ?
Have you checked if EVERY data of the orginal STEAM folder got copied?
Since you were missing DLL files it seems like you didnt copy everything..
