Chile Doubt

Wed Jan 30, 2019 9:50 pm

Are Chilean horses better than normal workers (Rotos) in collecting food from the Mill? do they benefit from economic improvement cards?

Rotos work at 2.5x times than a normal villager. Having 10 rotos in a mill is like having 25 villagers on one.

Interesting topic that I've also wondered a lot about. Answer:

Code: Select all

'Settler' <Rate type='Mill'>0.670000</Rate>
'Roto' <Rate type='Mill'>1.340000</Rate>
'Yegua' (the horse) <Rate type='Mill'>2.000000</Rate>
Unless the tactics further modify this number, you can conclude that:
1) The roto does indeed perform as two settlers. It does not work 2.5x times faster than normal villagers like Redtor tells.
2) The horses, costing 1 pop and 100 food, perform better than rotos, and a lot better than settlers. A horse gathers almost as fast as 3 villagers (or 1,5 rotos) from mills, which is insanely fast considering their low pop cost. IIRC, the downside is that you can only enable them very late.

Where can I find this rates info??

I'm pretty sure they do. They are Type:Villager as any other villager.

You can find that in the files (protoy.xml). It's a rather large, almost messy file to look things in up.
