Maltese Forts

Mon Jul 16, 2018 12:35 pm

Does anyone noticed that the Maltese Forts worked a bit different from other European civs? They can only train Longswordsmen, Trebuchet, and Demolishers, as opposed to almost all cavalry and infantry.

You have clearly not played aoe2, and thus you have no clue what is the uniqueness of Malta.

tip: in aoe2, castles produce trebs, petards and a UU, and they contain two unique techs.

That makes the Maltese even more brilliant than I thought!

It's also the number 1 reason why I feel like the card "Military Engineering" feels almost mandatory.  Since it allows you to rebuild the fort if it's destroyed.

As without it, you won't be able to build long swordsman anymore.

Yes. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that, not to mention the Maltese being a defensive civ. They definitely need rebuildable forts.
