Healing Rates

Wed May 09, 2018 4:09 pm

What's the rate of healing for Surgeons, Nurses, Priests, and Field Hospitals?

Is there any benefit to using a nurse over a surgeon (beyond the spawning cost)?

PS: Do Miners benefit from gathering techs, and how much faster are they than normal villagers?

Field Hospitals, Nurses and Surgeons heal units at a rate of 10 hitpoints/s, while Priests, by default, heal units at a rate of 6 hitpoints/s. Some Religions and religious improvements may improve the healing rate. Animism, for example, doubles the default healing rate, and one of its enabled techs (Spiritual Healing) doubles it even further.

Basically, the only advantage Nurses have over Surgeons are their reduced Coin cost when compared with the latter (100 Coin against 300 Coin, respectively). However, the Nurse can become somewhat less efficient once you research "Wash Hands" and "Antisepsis" at the Hospital, which increases Surgeon healing rate by 20% and 40%, respectively.

Yes.

They actually gather slower than Pilgrims, which is quite surprising. The Miner gathers 0.5625 Coin/s, while the Pilgrim gathers 0.6 Coin/s.

Huh. Would it be out of place for me to request a Miner buff or instructions on how to modify the Miner's gathering rate? I'm fine enough with Nurses, as they really just exist as a free way to give Americans the Hospital, but Miners being slower than pilgrims seems out of place. (Although, it would explain the slowness of my Gold rush deck.)

If you want to modify the Miner's gathering rate, just jump into some editing with some proto files ( exactly protoy.xml file ).
For further details, you can ask in the library or go google it.

Thank you. Looked around for a bit and I'm struggling with this. How do you open a XML.XMB file?

You don't need the xmb ones. xml already exist.

I mean the file is named "protoy.xml.xmb"

When I try to open it, it says I need a program that can open XMB files.

Hello how are you?
Try to edit the protoy.xml file with Notepad. This is an "xml" file that can be edited. The file in "XMB" format does not allow editing.

Got it. It was called, "protoy.xml.bak".
It says the gathering rate from "Abstractmine" is "0.7500000".
Is this the actual rate, or is there an additional calculation?

It also says that Plantations are considered separately, yet this unit somehow manages to gather from them. His only listed ability has him gathering from mines, so I'm a bit uncertain about things right now.
