Well, I think it would make some sort of difference in the counter cavalry aspect of the civ. Sometimes massing cav archers just isn't enough to deal with hand cav early on. Also, we are talking about two units, the jannisary and the nizam. While a trainable spahi may be out of place, fencing school would'nt cause too much harm to balance I think. I just think that Turks from Vanilla and Turks from Wol have been mixed in such a way that does not allow them to progress outside of the 2nd age effectively to the average player. Any other age just seems sub par to the point even massing units doesnt make any real difference. One suggestion I always had was giving the deli (being a lancer) a 1.3 or 1.5 multipler against infantry. Also, having a pike and ranger equivilent like the okchu and azap made turks seem not only more fitting into the european culture, but allowed me to handle more situations in age 2, which should be the turks specialty.
